About the project
With the ‘Dutch Cycling in London’ project and this informative and satirical website, we want to point at the differences between London’s cycling style and the Dutch cycling way.
Riding a bike the Dutch way is, not only green, healthy, clean, time-efficient and fun, but also social, safe, affordable, practical, laid-back, supporting local economies, comfortable and for everyone – from kids to elders.
Saskia Huizinga is the initiator of the project and supported by Academy of Urbanism Young Urbanists. She is a French and Dutch architect specialised in urbanism and placemaking, with a 10-year international experience in collective intelligence and sustainable design.
She works and lives in London, a city that she loves and that, she believes, could even be a better place to experience. This includes being able to cycle in an safe, easy and kind way, just like she did in the Netherlands for many years.
